You’re about to start your first day at Everglades University. Maybe you’re a transfer student and you already have an associate’s degree. Or you were in the military and are transitioning into college life for the first time.

No matter where you are in your journey, it’s natural to feel both excited and anxious about starting a new chapter.

These five resources can help ensure you have a great first day—and college career—at Everglades University.
Orientation

Our orientation program helps students get acclimated to college life by introducing them to our mission, rules, study techniques, and academic standards. It’s also a great time to tour the campus and become familiar with the faculty and staff.

“Smarthinking” Program

Our “Smarthinking” community is comprised of experienced faculty with a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in their discipline. Through the program, students can get tutoring in math, science, business, writing, and Microsoft Office. It’s a great resource for students who would like support in specific areas of study.

Online Virtual Library

Everglades University is dedicated to helping students become independent learners. That’s why we offer libraries filled with free academic resources at all of our campuses, including Boca Raton, Orlando, Tampa, and Sarasota. We also offer an online library, through which students can access academic databases, e-books, and peer-reviewed journals.

Academic Advisors

In college, just as in life, each student is responsible for his or her own success. However, at Everglades University, we pair each student with an academic advisor who can help them stay on track. Your required courses, cumulative GPA, attendance, and progress reports are just some of the topics that might be discussed. Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor every semester.

Online Support Services

Are you enrolled in one of our online degree programs? Take advantage of our trainers and help desk, available during business hours. You can also contact our instructors and administrators by phone or e-mail.

Whether it’s your first day of college or you’re a returning student, Everglades University is here to support you. It won’t be long before your first class becomes your first degree.
